BUREAU COUNTY, Ill. – Police released new details this week about an alleged homicide resulting in a deadly police chase that ended on I-80 near Princeton.
On Dec. 10, shortly before 10 p.m., officials say Illinois State Police and other local enforcement agencies located a suspect vehicle wanted in connection to a homicide in Beloit, Wisconsin earlier that day.
Police tried to initiate a traffic stop but the suspect did not stop. The pursuit ended at the Great Sauk Trail Rest Area on I-80 westbound, according to officials.


When officers approached the vehicle, they found the driver, the only occupant, dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to officials.

Alleged homicide.
According to Beloit Police, at around 5:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 1900 block of Colony Court.
Upon arrival, Beloit Police says officers found a woman who they took to a local hospital where she later died.
Police have identified the woman as Arianna Fobes, 25, of Beloit, Wisconsin.
According to her obituary, Fobes was a 2018 Beloit Memorial High School graduate, and she received her CNA certification from Blackhawk Technical College.
Fobes was employed at Beloit Memorial Hospital as a CNA, where she was adored by her patients and coworkers alike. She is described as, ‘independent, hardworking, and kind-hearted.’


The suspect.
On Tuesday, Beloit Police confirmed the person of interest identified in Fobes’ death was the person found dead in the suspect vehicle in Bureau County.
Officials have not identified the suspect who died. And no further details were given amid the ongoing homicide investigation.
