MOLINE, Ill. – A Rock Island man is behind bars after allegedly breaking into home and injuring a pregnant woman and child.
Akeen Wallace, 31, is charged with Home Invasion, a Class X Felony, two counts of Aggravated Battery, a Class 3 Felony, and Domestic Battery, a Class A Misdemeanor, court documents show.

On the morning of Nov. 27, QM says she was getting ready to leave her house in the 3100 block of 11th Avenue C in Moline with her 4-year-old daughter, JNG, to visit family for Thanksgiving, court documents show.
As she was getting ready to leave, Wallace contacted QM saying he was coming to her house to get a vehicle, but she told him no and tried to leave before he could arrive, court documents show.
QM is pregnant with Wallace’s child but they had broken up two weeks prior to this incident, court documents show.
Before QM could leave, Wallace arrived and pounded on the back door trying to get inside but was unsuccessful, court documents show.
Wallace then ran to the front door and was able to break the door frame to enter the house, court documents show.
Meanwhile, JNG had approached the door while Wallace was pounding on it, and as he broke through the door, forcing it to swing open, it struck JNG in the face causing a deep cut to her left eyebrow, court documents show.
After pummeling through the front door and causing injury to JNG, Wallace ‘immediately’ struck QM in the face causing a split lip, court documents show.
Wallace then grabbed QM around the neck, pushing her down on the couch, before letting go and running out the front door toward another vehicle being driven by his mother, court documents show.
Officers arrived as Wallace was running toward the vehicle, and took him into custody, court documents show.
According to police, Wallace admitted he has been dating QM for about six months and she is pregnant with his child, court documents show.
Wallace told police he had come to the house to pick up a vehicle but then got into a verbal argument with QM at both the rear and front door, court documents show.
According to police, Wallace admitted he tried entering the home but wasn’t able to get inside. He claims QM ‘chased him away’ from the front door and he ran back to his mother’s car, court documents show.
Officers found the door to the home was ‘badly damaged’ and furniture inside was out of place. They also took photos of the injuries to QM and JNG, court documents show.

The latest.
On Nov. 29, a judge found sufficient probable cause to proceed with the case and granted prosecutors’ request to deny pretrial release, court records show.
Wallace remains in custody at the Rock Island County Jail. A preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 16 and 8:30 a.m.
