DAVENPORT, Iowa – A Davenport man is behind bars after police say he stabbed and killed a woman in Davenport.
Adrian Moreno Sr., 54, is charged with First Degree Murder, a Class A Felony, and Willful Injury Causing Serious Injury, a Class C Felony. He is accused of fatally cutting a woman’s neck with a knife and injuring her boyfriend, court records show.
JANUARY 7 UPDATE:
Police identified the woman killed as Bobbie Carpenter, 52, of Bettendorf.

Allegations.
On Dec. 1, at around 6:30 p.m., police say officers responded to a home in the 700 block of East Locust Street in Davenport where they found Carpenter and a 35-year-old man suffering from stab wounds.

Carpenter had a ‘severe laceration’ to her neck and was pronounced dead on scene by EMS, affidavits show.
The man, who police say is Carpenter’s boyfriend, suffered lacerations to his hand which required surgical repair to severed tendons, affidavits show.
The boyfriend told detectives he witnessed Moreno cut Carpenter’s neck with a large knife. He said his own hand was also cut by the knife while trying to stop the assault, affidavits show.
According to police, Moreno was captured on in-home surveillance footage fleeing from the home while holding a large knife.
Moreno was later located in Le Claire where he admitted to detectives he was at the home earlier that day with both of the victims, affidavits show.
After meeting with detectives, Moreno was booked into the Scott County Jail shortly after 2 a.m. that night.
On Dec. 4, Moreno waived his right to a preliminary hearing and arraignment was scheduled, court records show.
On Dec. 16, prosecutors were granted a motion to delay arraignment to allow them extra time to, ‘prepare and file the trial information and minutes of testimony.’
