CARROLL COUNTY, Ill. – Police are asking the public for help after a spree of vehicle burglaries Saturday night.
Several Mt. Carroll residents say they woke up to find their vehicle’s door left open with cash missing. The suspects were seen on home surveillance footage.
On Monday, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office said two males are currently the suspects. Adding, the suspects may have been driving a red Chevrolet Blazer in the area from around Midnight to 3:30 a.m.
The suspects entered several unlocked vehicles in Mt. Carroll and stole property, and may have also entered multiple homes, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The vehicle burglaries occurred throughout Mt. Carroll, primarily east of Clay Street, as well as various locations toward Savanna, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office and Mt. Carroll Police Department are asking residents to send them video of any suspicious activity from Midnight to 3:30 a.m. Saturday night into early Sunday morning.
Authorities say they are most interested in any video showing the red Chevrolet Blazer or two suspects on foot.

The public is reminded to always lock vehicles and buildings, secure valuables, and promptly report suspicious activity. Community awareness plays a critical role in preventing crime and assisting law enforcement in identifying those responsible.
Anyone with video or information is urged to contact the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office or Carroll County Crime Stoppers at 815.244.7867.
Tips to Crime Stoppers may remain anonymous. Information leading to an arrest could earn the caller up to $1,000.
