FREEPORT, Ill. – A jury trial has been set for a Freeport man accused of sexually assaulting and abusing a woman in September.
Pedro Aguilar, 32, of Freeport, is facing several charges including two counts of Criminal Sexual Assault, a Class 1 Felony, one count of Criminal Sexual Abuse, a Class 4 Felony, and four counts of Domestic Battery, a Class A Misdemeanor.

On Sep. 14, prosecutors allege Aguilar used force to sexually penetrate JM with his penis and fingers, according to the complaint.
Prosecutors allege Aguilar also used a vape pen to make sexual contact with JM, according to the complaint.
Furthermore, prosecutors allege Aguilar pulled JM by her hair into his home, ripped her underwear off her body, pushed her onto the bed and kicked her ‘numerous’ times causing bruising to her arms and right shin, according to the complaint.
The complaint identifies JM as a ‘family or household member’ of Aguilar.
The case.
On Oct. 31, Aguilar was booked into the Stephenson County Jail but was denied pretrial release and will remain in custody as he awaits trial, records show.
On Nov. 13, Aguilar formally pled Not Guilty to the charges and will proceed to a jury trial, court records show.
A status hearing is set for Dec. 5 at 9 a.m. in Stephenson County, court records show.
A pretrial conference is set for Dec. 18 at 1:30 p.m. with a jury trial currently slated to begin Jan. 5, court records show.
