The Village of Shannon is reopening recruitment for police positions within the Shannon Police Department.

Following a recent hiring round in which no appointment was made, the Village is considering two alternative staffing models, only one of which will be selected.

OPTION 1 – FULL-TIME CHIEF OF POLICE

The Village remains actively interested in candidates for a full-time Chief of Police position.

OPTION 2 – PART-TIME CHIEF OF POLICE WITH PART-TIME OFFICER ROSTER

As an alternative to a full-time Chief, the Village is also considering a policing model built around a part-time Chief of Police supported by a strong roster of part-time officers.
