Jackson Kradle, 18, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, was struck and killed by a vehicle in the early morning hours of July 28, 2024. A Coroner’s Inquest jury ruled Jackson’s death a homicide. An off-duty Sheriff’s deputy has been charged with Reckless Homicide. He is accused of fatally striking Jackson with his truck, attempting to destroy evidence at a car wash and then lying to police.
