Coroner identifies 2 dead after crash near Princeton Thursday night

BUREAU COUNTY, Ill. – Two are dead after a two-vehicle crash near Princeton Thursday.

Emergency crews and the Bureau County Coroner on scene of fatal crash near Princeton.

It happened just outside of Princeton shortly before 9 p.m. Thursday on county road 2400 E just north of Route 6.

On Friday, the Bureau County Coroner identified the two who died.

Taylor Steele, 28, of Hennepin, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Howard Buckles, 62, of Malden, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The coroner says autopsies and toxicology reports will be conducted on both individuals.

The accident is being investigated by the Bureau County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from Illinois State Police.

The cause of the crash is unknown.
